Longleat Taxi Tours from Bath to the safari & adventure park
Longleat Safari and Adventure Park was opened in 1966. It was the first drive-through safari park outside of Africa and was the brainchild of Jimmy Chipperfield of the famous Chipperfields Circus.
The Safari park is home to over 500 animals that are housed in 10 separate areas of the park. The animals you can see include the famous lions of Longleat, a troop of cheeky Macaque monkeys, tigers, cheetahs, giraffes, wolves, a rescued former circus elephant, rhinos and deer. Some areas of the park can be experienced on foot, but for the rest of the enclosures you can take a ride on one of the double decker Safari Buses. You can sit back and enjoy the guided tour whilst the expert driver provides an exciting and informative commentary about the animals you see.
There are plenty more animals to see around the main square: you can take a boat trip around the lake and see the sea lions and gorillas; you can get up close to a colony of Humboldt penguins and Thornback Rays; feed the pretty Lorikeets; wander with monkeys; and journey into Jungle Kingdom which is home to meerkats, aardvarks, coati and more!
